Nissan Doubles Transmission Warranty to 10 Years/120,000 Miles

Anyone who's had a transmission fixed knows it can cost thousands of dollars for both the unit and the labor. And the cost of repair of a CVT transmission can outpace that of a more conventional transmission with four to six forward speeds as most repairs require that the transmission is replaced. Thankfully, Nissan has been listening to its customers, and as a result, the Japanese automaker is doubling the length of its warranty from five years and 60,000 miles to ten years and 120,000 miles.

That's all well and good for Nissan CVT owners who have yet to experience an issue, but what about Nissan CVT owners who have already shelled out thousands for repairs? Good news, Nissan is going to reimburse you for your pricey fix. If you've already paid for a CVT repair, you'll need to fill out Nissan's Reimbursement Form and follow the instructions. Nissan is also looking after customers who have to repair their CVT transmissions outside of warranty, working with suppliers and dealers to lower the cost of replacement transmissions and repairs.

While we're thinking Nissan is doing a very good thing by backing up its CVT transmissions with a longer warranty, we're wondering just how wide-spread the CVT issue is. Nissan has been clearly committed to CVT tech for years, and we're thinking this warranty action could cost the Japanese automaker a lot of coin.

2010 Nissan Rogue Krom Edition Available Now

Nissan has pulled the wraps off the Rogue Krom, the latest addition to the specialty vehicle lineup. Much like the Cube version, the Rogue Krom ("chrome") receives primarily aesthetic upgrades. Available in front- and all-wheel drive models, the Rogue comes in three specialty colors: Venom Red, Wicked Black, and Gotham Gray.

The Krom treatment starts with a Rouge S. To it, the package adds 17-in wheels with Continental rubber, a body kit, body-colored side mirrors, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and a slew of emblems. Out back, the Rouge gets a center-mount single exhaust. The rest of the vehicle remains stock, including the continuously variable transmission and its 170-hp, 2.5L inline-four.

Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition Celebrates Z-Car History

The Z-Car line has lived, with limited interruption, since Nissan was Datsun. Now Nissan is celebrating with the Silver 40th Anniversary Nissan 370Z.
The better way to celebrate this milestone is at Crown Nissan. The 40th Anniversary Edition starts as a Sport Package 370Z with the manual six speed and adds a unique paint job, caliper color, wheel color, embroidered seats, as well as a numbered plaque, and a unique satin car cover.

One fateful October day in 1969, the very first 240Z was imported into the United States, and from that day forth, a legend was born. When Japanese automaker Datsun first designed the Z, they wanted to deliver a daily driver sports car at an affordable price.

Debuting as a 1970 model, the first Z featured a 2.4L inline-6, 150hp engine with a 4-speed manual transmission or optional 3-speed automatic and rode on 14"wheels.  Of course, all the luxuries of the day, roll-up windows and a radio, were included. The price tag on one of these beauties? A mere $3,626.

Four decades later, Nissan continues to please driving enthusiasts with the 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition to be released Spring 2010. To commemorate this landmark, a limited edition of 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition models will be released, equipped with the standard 370Z Touring plus a manual transmission and Sport Package which includes SynchroRev Match, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, Nissan Sport Brakes, 19-inch Rays forged aluminum-alloy wheels, and viscous limited-slip differential. The limited edition 370Z also adds a premium "40th Quartz" exterior color, red leather-appointed interior, high-luster smoke wheel finish, red brake calipers and 40th Anniversary badges and 40th Anniversary embroidery on the seatbacks and floor mats.

A lot has changed in the 40 years since the first Z model rolled onto US soil, but the one thing that has stayed the same is Nissans commitment to provide sports car enthusiasts with a quick, inspiring and affordable sports car they could look forward to driving everyday.

Nissan has the better way to make automotive history and Crown Nissan has the better way to buy. Be sure to visit Crown Nissan in St. Petersburg to learn more about this special edition Nissan 370Z.
