Rediscover the 2022 Nissan Frontier

With new exterior design and upgraded technology features, it’s time to rediscover the mid-size 2022 Nissan Frontier. The fresh new design and plethora of trims, cabs, and packages make the Frontier an attractive option for buyers who want high-tech features in a rugged and versatile pickup. Drivers looking for a capable pickup truck for an affordable price should look no farther than the 2022 Frontier.

Powerful Performance and Capabilities

The standard engine on the 2022 Frontier is a 3.8-liter V6 that delivers 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. Nissan puts a nine-speed automatic transmission in each model and pairs it with standard rear-wheel drive.

Several trims have available four-wheel drive, while some, like the Pro-X only come with rear-wheel drive. Buyers have to choose the PRO-4X to get four-wheel drive. Depending on the drivetrain, the Frontier can tow up to 6,720 pounds and haul a maximum payload of 1,610 pounds.

The S and SV trims are better prepared for daily driving, while the PRO-X and PRO-4X are designed for off-road terrain. With rear-wheel drive, the 2022 Nissan Frontier specs show an EPA-estimated 18/24 MPG, while the four-wheel-drive models deliver an estimated 17/22 MPG according to the EPA.

Keeping Drivers and Passengers Safe

To compete with other mid-size pickup trucks on the market, Nissan added several popular driver-assistive tech features in its Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite. They include standard Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rearview Monitor, and Intelligent Driver Alertness.

Buyers can add optional driver-assist features like Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Sonar System, and High Beam Assist. Drivers who choose a PRO trim can add an Intelligent Around View Monitor with Off-Road Mode.

Other safety features include standard Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System, Active Brake Limited Slip, and Trailer Sway Control.

Staying Entertained and Connected on the Road

The 2022 Nissan Frontier comes loaded with tech features for information and entertainment. Each trim comes with a 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display and either an 8-inch or 9-inch NissanConnect color touch-screen display. Nissan Door-to-Door Navigation with Premium Traffic is standard on the PRO trims, while all models have voice recognition, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, Bluetooth®, and Siri Eyes-Free features.

The standard audio system comes with six speakers, but buyers who choose the PRO trims can choose to add a Fender premium audio system with 10 speakers and subwoofers. All trims come with at least two USB ports and SiriusXM® radio capability.

Four Distinctive Trim Levels

The 2022 Nissan Frontier comes in four distinctive trims: S, SV, PRO-X, and PRO-4X. The PRO trims are designed for off-roading with plenty of rugged features, while the S and SV both come with attractive features while serving as a comfortable and powerful daily driver.

Buyers can choose a Frontier with a King Cab with two doors and seating for four, or a Crew Cab with four doors and seating for five. The S and SV come in both drivetrains and cab sizes, while the PRO-X and PRO-4X are only available in the Crew Cab style.

On the outside, the Frontier comes with Intelligent Auto Headlights and LED Taillights with an updated grille. The King Cab comes with rear access doors, while the Crew Cab has full-size rear doors. Buyers can add a factory-sprayed bed liner. Nissan offers an available power moonroof on the PRO trims.

The S trim comes with 17-inch styled steel wheels, while the SV adds 17-inch alloy wheels. Dark-finished 17-inch alloy wheels are standard on the PRO trims. Buyers can upgrade their wheels on all trims.

On the inside, the 2022 Frontier has several upholstery finishes. The S has cloth seats, while the SV has upgraded premium cloth seats. On the PRO trims, buyers can upgrade to leather upholstery. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available on the SV and PRO trims.

Nissan offers a leather-wrapped steering wheel standard on the PRO trims, and as an upgrade on the SV trim.
